Describe the product in plain language
Start with product names in Chinese and English, the use case, and useful synonyms. “Cotton T-shirts for everyday wear” is more informative than a broad label such as “clothing”.
Define who might buy it
Choose the type of business you want to research: for example, an importer, distributor or retail buyer. Different buyer roles call for different evidence of a possible fit.
Use an HS code as supporting information
An HS code can help refine a search, but it is optional. Product descriptions and buyer information remain useful starting points. This guide does not provide customs classification advice.
Choose a useful scope
A global scope can be a starting point. Refine it around the markets and business roles your team can realistically review and serve.
